As with all industries, ours uses some jargon that it would be handy to understand;
Air Conditioning - the process of changing the condition of ambient air. This may include heating or cooling, filtering pollen, dust and adjusting the humidity.
AC Unit – your ‘unit’ may consist of separate parts often in different rooms. for example, in residential installations, the condensing unit often sits outside whilst the head unit sits inside your room.
Heat Pump - most domestic AC Units are often referred to ad Heat pumps because that is exactly what they do!

The legal bit
Refrigerant Gasses are controlled substances as they can be flammable and dangerous to the environment. It is a legal requirement to have your Air Conditioning unit installed by a certified F Gas technician. AC Air will leave you with full documentation.
Small domestic Air Conditioning units installed into residential properties or business, are not necessarily subject to documentation required by law i.e. a unit that contains less than 3Kg of refrigerant.
